This is the type of retreat where you truly escape to nature, without a care or additional, unforeseen costs (although you may want to bring some extra spending moola for vending night, antiques or artsy goodies from NJ Studios).

Art in the Rough - Art Retreat for Women is held on a wonderful country property in Charleston, Maine. Your hosts are Taryn & Scott Reece of NavelJelly Studios. As the name suggests, this is a camping retreat. But do not fret about roughing it...you will be provided unique & elegant amenities. We like to call it “high-style camping” while others call it “glamping” or glamour-camping.
Imagine bunking in a large tent house, snuggling into an oversized, comfy cot with crisp linens and warm blankets. You will be surrounded by special, luxurious touches including a complimentary welcome basket brimming with goodies, fresh towels & sundries.

Facilities: Private hot water outdoor showers, wash-up stations, changing areas and bathrooms, accented with cool decorative touches & funky-junk. Surrounded by picturesque gardens and breathtaking views of the mountains, woods & fields. If you have yet to take a shower outdoors, you are in for a wonderful treat!
Take a nature walk, or perhaps lounge by the swimming pool. Our art barn will be available for 24 hour art-creating, for those of you who enjoy working into the night! A campfire, twinkling lights & lanterns complete the magical setting.
*NOTE: Due to the spirit of the event, we highly encourage on-site lodging. However, if you prefer to lodge off-site there are some B&Bs and hotels within the area. Contact us by email for more information.
