Originally from California, I am a mixed media/jewelry artist /amateur photographer, who now resides at the Jersey Shore. Drawing inspiration form my life experiences as the mother of a severely disabled child, I channel that energy into learning and creating art. Experimenting with “reclaimed discardia” results in many unique pieces of storytelling art.

I’ve recently been published in Belle Amoire  Jewelry and Altered Couture. My goal as a teacher is to support, motivate and inspire others. I’ve taught at Artnsoul in Portland, Art is, in Connecticut and will be teaching several classes at “Gilding the lily” in California and Art Opera in New Jersey Spring 2010.

Robin is a native Mainer, working at home with her husband.  A self taught artist, she enjoys drawing, painting and stitching subjects that amuse her.  She has lived a self-employed life style for 30+ years as a direct result of her artistic creations in collectible miniatures, a field where she has taught many workshops and is very well known for pushing the envelope. Robin’s artwork has also been used in many commercially-licensed designs.

She has been gifted with a wonderful husband who understands her, two adult daughters who are her best friends, and two grandchildren who put everything into perspective.  Her family, friends, animal pals, and her gardens are her greatest source of inspiration.  There seems to be a constant flow of energy and ideas, which makes life a fun, wild ride.

Taryn has a BFA degree in Illustration from the Hartford Art School, University of Hartford.  She has been featured in several articles in Somerset Studio, Art Quilting Studio, Haute Handbags and Somerset Memories. She enjoys working with many different types of media as the mood or muse strikes her.  As much as she is constantly amazed and inspired by Mother Nature, Taryn has to admit she also has a fascination with the creations of man.  Junky antiques, rusted metal pieces, old doll parts, antique glass glitter, teeny tiny miniatures, found objects and absolutely any type of paper ephemera-these things make her heart flutter!

Taryn and her husband Scott founded NavelJelly Studios, a mixed media & alternative art supply company specializing in original designs, weird & wonderful found objects, as well as all things miniature.  Taryn and Scott are proud hosts of ART in the ROUGH - Art Retreat for Women.
